What is 1st Edition ?

A first edition is the first book printed.
In order to print a book, a printing plate is made. The first printing plate made is called the "first edition'' (also called the first edition), and the first edition printed for the first time is called the ``first printing'' (first printing). This first edition is called the "first edition".
