2.0 GHz, Dual-Core Processor, PXI Embedded Controller—The PXIe-8105 is an Intel Core Duo embedded controller for PXI and Compact PCI systems. It is used for modular instrumentation and DAQ applications. The PXIe-8105 includes 10/100/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit) Ethernet and four Hi-Speed USB ports, as well as an integrated hard drive, serial port, and other peripheral I/O.

NI PXI-8461
NI-CAN Supported, 2-Port, High-Speed PXI CAN Interface Module—The PXI-8461 is a high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) interface for developing applications with the NI‑CAN driver. The PXI-8461 provides listen-only, self-reception (echo), and advanced filtering modes.

NI PXI-8431
2-Port, RS485/RS422 PXI Serial Interface Module—The PXI‑8431/2 is a high-performance interface for high-speed communication with RS485 and RS422 devices. It features high-performance DMA transfers, multithreading, and multiprocessor support.

NI PXI-8430/8
8-Port, RS232 PXI Serial Interface Module—The PXI‑8430/8 is a high-performance interface for high-speed communication with RS232 devices.  It features high-performance DMA transfers, multithreading, and multiprocessor support. NI serial interfaces also appear as standard COM ports for compatibility with programs that use serial communications.
