OVERPRINT BATIK SPREAD ~Authentic block print over batik spread with elephant and floral pattern. Made of 100% power-loom cotton offering a strong, tight, durable weave. Measures approximately 60 x 90 inches. In Shades of gray and burgundy. They can be machine washed separately on cool/gentle and tumble dried. The batik is an age old method developed by the Indonesians. It is the art of creating design using the application of wax and dyes. The block print overprint is also a very time-consuming process as it is created by dipping hand carved wooden blocks into the dye and pressing it onto the fabric in a repeated pattern. Both of the methods used to create this tapestry are very laborious and can only be achieved by hand. The block print style overprint adds a unique geometric dimension.
