Set of 2 Scottish Sterling Silver Sauce Ladle Edinburgh Date mark 1829-31 with Mounted Bear Claw Handle

Presented is an elegant set of two Sauce or Gravy ladles marked for silver made in Edinburg with an x and y date mark for silver made in 1829-31 and a maker mark of DF I believe to be for Daniel Ferguson. I have posted pictures of my research on these marks in the photos above. These great midsize ladles have a downturned round end with a short back midrib, a modeled drop and a great period engraved Mounted Bear Claw on the front end of the handle. The Bear Claw is notable for the representation Protection and Strength. These stunning pieces are in lovely condition only some light nick along the edges, no dents or dings and only some fine scratches from gentle use and care. This is a fantastic useful set for an array of dishes and an excellent item for almost any table or service.

Weight: 1.9 ounces on my postal scale or 55 grams

Condition: light nick along the edges, no dents or dings an engraved mounted Bear Claw on the top of the handle end and only some fine scratches from gentle use and care.
