1939 Press Photo "Cancer is Curable" advertising slogan for cancer control month

Cancer kills 400 Americans a day-more than any other one thing except heart disease. Yet as the poster says, cancer can be cured if brought under proper treatment in its early stages. To spread that message, Congress and the President have designated April as cancer control month. In 46 states the Women's Field Army against Cancer is enrolling members under the slogan: "Fight Cancer with knowledge."
