A knife forged by inserting blue paper steel into a soft iron blade

Higonokami Sada by Nagao Koma Seisakusho. Higonokami are available in sizes from extra large, large, medium, and small.

The blade is made of a soft iron sandwiched between hard blue paper steel, which makes it more resistant to cracking and breaking than an all-steel structure. It has a V-shaped double-edged blade, so it can be used on either hand regardless of handedness.

There is a hole at the back of the handle, so you can pass a string through it.

There are several knives like Higonokami, but only registered trademarked products can be labeled as Higonokami.
