1937 Press Photo Fred Reardon questioned by Detective John Muellner in Milwaukee
This is an original press photo. Fred Reardon, left, an ex-convict, being questioned by Detective John Muellner after his capture in Milwaukee, WI, in a gun battle with police who surprised a gang of five bandits as they attempted to rob a dairy near the downtown section of the city after torturing the dairy cashier at his home to force him to reveal the combination of the safe. A detective was killed, two policemen were wounded and a bandit killed before Reardon was captured as leader of the bandit gang. The other three bandits escaped but were taken later. Photo measures 8.25 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 11-03-1937.
