This was the first 1 1/2 cent stamp issued in the United States. It was the very first fractional postage stamp. This was also among the last stamps to be printed by Flat Plate press.  After this, stamps were produced using rotary press printing.

This stamp was on an envelope received by my Grandmother in the 1920's. She gave it to my mother, who loved stamps. My mother did not professionally collect stamps. She saved various stamps throughout her life, saving and storing them in boxes in her home. She passed away and now I am offering her stamps to others who love them as she did.
