1977 Peoples Hiking Day Karl Valentin medal mounted in a Deschler Munchen 90 setting. Hahnbach, Bavaria, Germany town crest is at the top.

Karl Valentin (1882-1948) was the Charlie Chaplin of Germany. Comedian and musician. Known fir his sketches and poems.

I haven't found another one anywhere in this larger size. Superb addition to your collection or museum!

Medal measures approximately 60mm or 2 3/8" wide and 135mm or 5 3/8" long.

Any scuffs and scratches are consistent with age, use, and storage.
