Moissanite is one of the best man-made diamonds available, also known as silicon carbide, and is so similar in
appearance to natural diamonds that it is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye.
Moissanite has more fire than a diamond, 2.5 times more fire than a diamond, while Moissanite has a moissanite
hardness of 9.25, just below diamond 10 and higher than any other gemstone. The high hardness makes it less
susceptible to scratching and cracking and will last forever.
The appearance of moissanite remains softer as dust and oil collect. Swimming, bathing or taking a hot bath once
or twice with a moissanite ring on may not pose any significant threat to your ring, but long-term exposure can
take its toll.
