The 1990s were a time of change in America’s covered hopper fleet.  Shippers and railroads demanded higher capacity covered hoppers for a new era of railroading. Trinity responded with a new design boasting 5,161 Cubic Feet of capacity. Their design served a number of key markets, including grains, fertilizers, petrochemicals, incorporating different loading hatches and outlet gates.  Many North American railroads adopted the Trinity 5161 covered hopper design into their unit trains. These cars are still rolling in service today.

This model is produced by InterMountain Railway. This ready-to-run hopper car is very detailed and sharp looking and would look good in your consist.
