Oscar made his F1 debut in 2023 after a season on the sidelines, when he was reserve driver for Alpine. He was the subject of much mid-season speculation about where he would race in 2023, with McLaren F1 Team securing the 2021 F2 champion on a multi-year contract. He has a deal at McLaren F1 Team until 2026.
