This is a beefier, upgraded version of our other service kit for Breville Dual Boiler machines
- BES900 & BES920. It includes a group seal, food grade silicone grease as well as other seals. This will also cover the older BES980 Oracle (not touch screen), though there may be some seals left over.
Please note: if you're purchasing this kit for a BES980 model machine, the steam valve seals and hot water valve seals in this kit are not compatible. Please refer to the photos of the parts in this ad for reference.

I’ve had many requests to put together a service kit,
and I've listened to your feedback! In this set, I’ve included solutions to
the main hot-side culprits of leaks in these machines. This is a great kit for preventative
maintenance and servicing that includes everything you need to take care of all the most common seal leaks.
If you have had a steam leak and notice your machine is overheating, particularly if the leak has been there a while, chances are very high that your triac board has been affected. Not a worry though! We sell service kits for those - links below!
This kit includes:
Boiler O-ring set:
- 5 x large O-rings for the coffee and steam probes
and 12 x small O-rings for the hot-side boiler hose connections and NTCs (this also
covers the O-rings at the back of the group head beneath the solenoid).
- 4 x clear O-rings for the steam boiler probe shafts. Note: To install these, you'll need to remove the probe, carefully remove the E-clip at the top, slide the white sheath up and remove the old seal before carefully sliding the new Oring up from the bottom of the probe and into place. You'll may need to nudge the O-ring all around underneath the white sheath with something blunt. Once it's under there, you can slide the sheath back down, hold it in place and replace the E-clip to lock it all into place.
- 3 x probe shaft retainer clips
Drain valve O-rings:
- 2 x small O-rings for the tips of the drain
valves that seal the openings. These are where the leaks usually come from. I
have never seen the larger O-ring on these valves die…yet (the green one in the
pic) so I haven’t included those
- 4 x large O-rings for the boiler drain fittings and connections to the drain valves (for BES920 & BES980).
Solenoid seal set:
- 2 x PTFE solenoid gaskets
- 2 x brass vent pins

Steam valve seal set:
- 2 x PTFE internal ball valve seals. Note: After
installation the lever will feel tough. Don’t worry, this is normal. It will
soften nicely after you use it and the seals form around the ball valve.
- 3 x small O-rings for the connecting elbow and
steam arm seals
- 1 x HNBR O-ring for the valve actuator
Steam boiler anti-vac seals:
The anti-vac valve on the steam boiler is very often overlooked and we've seen MANY of these machines with leaks here. The seal around the plunger goes brittle over time and this allows pressure to vent from your steam boiler, which makes it have to kick the element on again to top it up more frequently. If the leak gets bad enough, it can lead to much more scale build-up in your steam boiler due to it heating more often than it should. More scale = more chance of compromising the boiler element which = a boiler replacement which is very expensive! If you already have the machine open, you might as well use an 18mm spanner/socket to remove the anti-vac, give it a quick bath in descale solution and replace the seals.
- 1 x silicone seal for the anti-vac plunger
- 1 x silicone seal for the anti-vac housing nut
ULKA EP5 & EX5 pump seal kit:
If your machine is up to 6yrs old and you've noticed a drop in brew pressure or a stall in the pre-infusion phase, this kit should help. It should also help to quiet down the pump as they do get louder as the seals age.
If your machine is older than 6yrs however, we highly recommend that you install a new pump. We've found from plenty of experience that the coils that drive the piston in these pumps tend to fail over time as like most things, they have a working lifespan. The pump gets warmer the longer it's used and as you could imagine, after that many years of heating up & cooling down, the coils inside will inevitably weaken. A seal kit may help, but it's usually just a band-aid solution at that point.
Please check the manufacture date of your pump. If the manufacture date is older than 2018, then there is a chance that it could have a slightly bigger piston seal (the small EPDM seal), so this kit may not be effective.
- 1 x Delrin ball (one-way valve)
- 1 x EPDM piston seal
- 3 x NBR outer seals
Hot water valve seals:
If you have a leaky hot water tap, these seals should help. You'll need to remove the hot water valve assembly and pull it apart to get to them. There are 2 seals inside on the shaft that would need replacing (refer to photo of the disassembled valve).
1 x food grade silicone group head seal
1 x food grade silicone grease for installing the O-rings
