This fruit plate is the result of a collaboration between Victor Vasarely, a pioneer of op art, ars mundi, a German art dealer for over 80 years, and Konigl pr tettau, a leading German ceramics manufacturer for 230 years. In 1991, ars mundi proposed this product to Vasarely, and Konigl pr tettau sold a limited edition of 1,500 sets worldwide.
The set consisted of a coffee cup and saucer, a fruit plate, and a coaster, each in six different designs. Nowadays, it is very difficult to find the full set even in the home country, and the price seems to be very expensive. This is a fruit plate from the set.
