Verbatim’s Music CD-R is the perfect media solution for consumers to create custom music CDs. Verbatim’s Music CD-R discs are designed for use in audio recorders which bear the Compact Disc Digital Audio Recordable logo and can be recorded on by PC-based CD recorders.  Once the recorded CD-R is finalized, it can be played back in any CD player.  Music CD-R discs provides 80 minutes of audio recording time or 700MB of storage capacity.  CD-recordable disks are write-once media meaning, once written, information is permanent and can never be altered.  Write speed compatible with 40x CD-recordable drives.

These are the media needed for recording on Philips, Pioneer, Harman/Kardon, JVC & Marantz (and others) brands of home CD-Recorders.  Known as Digital-Audio, these are the media supported by consumer audio-only cd-to-cd home recorders. These consumer audio-only CD-R discs meet the standards of the Audio Home Recording Act (AHRA) of 1992, which requires a royalty to be paid by the disc manufacturer to the music industry.  These CD-R's support the Serial Copy Management System.

Important Compatibility Note:  Some Philips models (specifically the 775 model, and occasionally the 765, 785 and other similar models) may not work with these cd-r's due to the Philips' common problem of a faulty power calibration unit.  This problem is becoming rare, but small quantities are recommended for testing.  As these media are designed for stand-alone, digital-audio cd recorders, this type of media is not required for pc recorders, and therefore compatibility with a pc recorder is not guaranteed.
