Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Haussard after Coypel. Jean Baptiste Haussard (Dennevoux 1680-1749) was a French engraver/printmaker. Antoine Coypel (1661-1722) was a history painter, the more famous son of the French painter Noel Coypel.

Subject: This original print shows: Don Quijote kneeling and embarassing the feet of a peasant woman riding a donkey. The woman brandishes a stick. Sancho Panza, also kneeling, at the right, has deceived his master into thinking the peasant girl is Dulcinea.
Condition: Excellent given age. Margins minimally thumbed and a little soiled. A small tear in the left margin (backed with acid-free archival tape). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
