***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The crown cannot be wound hence the movement can't be tested.  At a minimum the mainspring will need to be replaced.  Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1970's Chromatic Calendar diver has a lovely "T Swiss Made T" signed dial.  The fracturing/splintering seen over the dial markers in many of the pictures may be on the underbelly of the crystal or it may be filament from the dial.  Despite looking at it from every conceivable angle and under different lighting conditions it's difficult to determine the source. In person it's not nearly as pronounced as seen in the pictures.  The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint glow on the hands only, has aged gracefully.  The blue bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally, presents nicely and complements the dial and patina beautifully.  The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BASE METAL BEZEL - SWISS MADE - 12623 - STAINLESS BACK - WATERRESISTANT - 5 ATM SINGLE TESTED."  The inside of the case back is stamped "AGON CHROMATIC WATCH CORP" followed by "1305."  In looking at the outside of the crystal its integrity appears to be intact.  However, given the fracturing/splintering seen in the pictures and my inability to determine its source (whether it's on the crystal or filament on its underbelly coming from the dial) a watchmaker will need to determine its viability.

The one jewel Swiss unadjusted "AGON CHROMATIC WATCH CORP" stamped EB 8810 is clean but does not run.  While the date and time can be set the sharply threaded non-screwdown crown cannot be wound.  At a minimum the mainspring will need to be replaced.  Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10.5 mm.  Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm.

This is a non-working vintage watch with an unknown service history.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this particular watch that time is now.  As mentioned above at a minimum a full overhaul will be required.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
