Original May 1944 publication. Still totally legible and a very readable. Back in 1944 many regarded handicapping as a form of second income. It required study and some experience, but was a reliable source of income if approached conservatively. It is an enjoyable read as they wrote differently back at that time. The subject articles cover different methods of play such as Trojan System , Big Value System and others. I think of it as period piece/art more than a study reference although some of the things discussed are kind of timeless. All pages are intact and without writing or tears. I got it from an estate sale in San Antonio, Texas and I could not throw it away as I know some racing enthusiast will appreciate it. Condition Very Good.  Pages are in good shape considering its 80 years old.  No tears, writing dog ears or discoloration.  Notes Original Publication Format Magazine Topic HORSE RACING, Handicapping, Gambling Language English Book Title Horse and Jockey Magazine Author Unknown Type Manual
