Photograph Notes: Dodd is a common name among the mountains of the Lake District; the one in question here is a relatively low summit dwarfed by much higher peaks of the Skiddaw group of mountains. The view is to the north where the lightly snowed mountains are Long Side and Carl Side. The vertical blade of rock has a plate inset on the smooth side in view which declares that the location is Dodd Summit at 1612 feet and that the rock is in memory of Ian and John. Further inscribed plates are affixed to the other side of the rock.
