WARDRESS stand for genuine old-school heavy metal in the style and spirit of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Dio / Black Sabbath, Omen, Savatage.

Founded in 1984 by guitarist Alex and vocalist Erich, they did write several songs and recorded some demos. However, after the band broke up for personal reasons in 1985, the whole project was put on hold for a very long time.

Only in 2018, Alex recovered the old demo tape and decided to go to a studio with Erich and finally record these long-lost treasures. They easily found new comrades-in-arms, in particular Mirco (bass) and Andy (drums). Reunited again as a band, new songs were written breathing the spirit of the idols and completing the album “Dress For War” with ten tracks starting with an instrumental intro.

The album was recorded at the Empire Studios / Bensheim by Rolf Munkes (Crematory) who could not have been better chosen to create a crisp, genuine, old-school spirited sound.

WARDRESS are going to excite fans of the genre with their familiar but fresh sound, the powerful production and their epic songs.

WARDRESS spielen authentischen Heavy Metal der alten Schule im Stil und Geiste von Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Dio / Black Sabbath, Omen, Savatage.

Bereits im Jahr 1984 von Gitarrist Alex und Sänger Erich gegründet, wurden damals zwar einige Songs geschrieben und Demos aufgenommen, aber nach der Auflösung der Band aus persönlichen Gründen ein Jahr später für lange Zeit auf Eis gelegt.

Erst im Jahr 2018 entdeckte Alex das alte Demo-Tape wieder und entschied sich, mit Erich diese Schätzchen endlich einmal im Studio aufzunehmen. Und so fand man auch schnell neue Mitstreiter, namentlich Mirco am Bass und Andy am Schlagzeug. Als Band wieder komplett, entstanden weitere neue Songs, die bewusst den Geist der Vorbilder atmen sollten und zusammen mit einem instrumentalen Intro nun die zehn Titel des Albums "Dress For War" komplett machen.

Aufgenommen wurde das Album in den Empire Studios / Bensheim von Rolf Munkes (Crematory), der nicht besser für den knackig-authentischen und vom Old-School Metal Geist getragenen Sound hätte ausgewählt sein können.
