The main body are little, antiqued, silvertone studs, with clear glass crystals inlaid in them.

they also have an extra hoop piece that can be threaded onto the stud's post, and either worn in front of, or behind the earlobe, your choice.

this extra piece has an antiqued silvertone hoop body with etched triangles, and goldtone chains with a spike hanging from it.

It can also be threaded onto other stud earrings you have in your collection at home, 

or worn asymmetrically,

the hoop is about the size of a US quarter, about 1" diameter.

The body is mostly zinc & copper alloys, though the post, which threads through your ear, is stainless steel, so should be better for sensitive ears.
