Offered here is a ticket stub from the 1949 New York Yankees Monument Park dedication to Hall of Famer Babe Ruth. Ruth was enshrined in Monument Park on April 19, 1949, at Yankee Stadium in New York City. 40,075 fans attended the ceremony before the home opener game between the Yankees and the Washington Senators, which was also Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel's first game with the Yankees. The Yankees would honor Ruth in fashion by defeating the Senators 3-2. The orange ticket stub is labeled “New York Yankees, INC.” and “YANKEE STADIUM” at the top of the ticket stub. “GAME NO. 1” and “SERIES B” with a serial number are located on the midsection. The grandstand ticket seat cost $1.25. The New York Yankees “Bat in a Hat” logo in red appears on the bottom of the ticket stub. The reverse of the stub features notices and policy information. The ticket stub comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (58742053), who gave the ticket the grade of VG 3.
