This kit replicates the door striker that mounts directly to the body / door opening on 76 - 81 Jeep CJ7. Fits steel and fiberglass bodies. (Fiberglass does not have access to the nut plate, most people use self tapping screws).

This style door and striker is for external "Crank" / "Lever" or "Garage door" style exterior handle and inside handle that is behind the driver and passenger directly at the door latch. 

The newer doors use a flush or paddle style exterior door handle and a rotary latch and round pin on the body. These strikers do not work with that style door. 

These strikers DO WORK on 82 - 86 CJ7's if you end up with a set of 76-81 doors with the lever style handles. You will need to remove the pin style strikers and drill two holes in the edge of the door opening aligning with the door latches. Any questions please ask! 

Brand new plain steel construction with threaded backing plates and hardware. These will take on a patina (flash rust) like the originals that were also plain steel.
