Letter dated 9 January 1933 (2476) instructing for the payment of 400 baht to Chao Phraya Siripat for an ordination King Rama VII's multicolored emblem on top and HM's signature at the bottom 20 x 33cm The timing of this letter is historically very significant, as it was the initial period of the consitutional monarchy (the absolute monarchy having ended in June 1932). King Prajadiphok was thus both the last absolute monarch of Thailand and the first constitutional one. Although he eventually abdicated in 1935, he worked hard to cooperate with the civilian government(s) and was a supporter of democratic representation for the people.
