Manage Your Keto Diet Safely
Optimal Ketone Levels
Darker colors on the ketone color pad indicate higher levels of ketones in the urine sample but not higher levels of ketosis. The same amount of fat is burned when in ketosis, regardless of ketone levels. A moderate 4 mmol/l ketones level should be targeted for the safest keto diet results.
Optimal pH Levels
Urine pH levels can vary in the range of 5 to 8, however, a slightly acidic pH of 6.0 - 6.5 is considered normal for most people. Alkaline dieters should target pH values above 7. Keto dieters may see ph values as low as 5.0 - 5.5, the diet should be tweaked to increase it to higher levels.
