Here is one that we recently picked up.   An original Marietta suspension helmet from we believe the late 1960s or early 1970s.  How you see it is how we purchased it, including the name Jackson on the inside.  The helmet has what appear to be older Eagles green wings attached.  They do not appear to be modern and match up with a verified Eagles game used helmet that we have.  They seem to be positioned a bit high on the helmet compared to where the Eagles wore them, but perhaps they were done that way to keep the upper holes unblocked for a cage mask.  There are no holes drilled for a cage side mounts - but hey a lot of Riddell helmets came from the factory that way - perhaps Marietta did the same.

There is the name Jackson on the inside.  I assume that is for the WR Harold Jackson who went on to make a living with the Los Angeles Rams.  I don't believe it was worn by Harold Jackson as he seemed to be a Riddell guy - why, I'll never know.  Perhaps it was put in the helmet by the original owner - who knows.  The helmet has a plastic Rawlings or other style mounted to the helmet - but it appears to be mounted upsidedown.  Not sure why or who did it.  Like I said, we have not done anything to this helmet since we bought it from a major auction house.
Helmet is original, complete with the original rare Marietta jawpads.  It has what appears to be a padded MacGregor or other chinstrap - also original to the helmet.  Is it a mess or is it unique?  It definitely has a story.  I liked it when I bought it, I still like it now, but perhaps you like it more than I do.  Check out the photos for condition.  An awesome helmet at a great price.
