• Genuine mid-19th century antique steel-engraved print in color, originally published in and subsequently excised from a book (some possibly from a copy of the 2-volume Picturesque America published by D. Appleton in New York in the 1870s)
• Plate size 9 1/2 x 7" (image area smaller) and total matted area 11 x 9"
• Published by Johnson, Fry & Co. 1866
• A few scuffs and light smudges in margins, uniform light toning but otherwise a fine example
• Print is laid loosely inside a complimentary decorative mat
• The print’s image may not fit perfectly within the mat window and thus may not be ideal for framing as-is
• Print may or may not be evenly cut, some edges may not be perfectly straight
• Evidence of old tape residue on one or more edges, see photos
• Dated 1866 at foot of print, indicating publisher copyright date
• Guaranteed steel-engraved illustrated plate published in the mid-19th century and not a modern reproduction
