Antique WMF silver plated inkwell ( inkstand ).

This is a PRETTY and antique silver plated ( brass plated ) inkwell, depicting a female figure in an ornately decorated sailboat.

The top ( cover ) of the ship is removable to reveal an inkwell insert.

Original glass insert ( tiny chip at the top )

High quality detail, beautiful decoration with dolphins holding the boat.

Beautiful and makes you dream.

The base is stamped with the WMF mark :

WMFB

B : Britannia metal ( which is a pewter alloy, silvery appearance, smooth surface ).

I/O : thickness of silver plating.

AS : antique silver finish.

Also numbered 4.

The lid is stamped with I/O.
