This is a reprint of the 1873 trade catalog Atkins Clock Company, Bristol, Connecticut. The Atkins Clock Company was just one venture of the Atkins family of Bristol, Connecticut. From 1817 to 1882, the name Atkins was associated with the manufacture of clocks and other products at Bristol. Most of their production was done at a site on the Pequabuck River near the junction of present-day West and Divinity Streets. The Atkins Clock Company catalog features 22 clocks. A well-written history of the Atkins clock ventures is presented by Chris Bailey and includes information about Atkins companies such as Atkins & Downs, R & I Atkins, Merriman, Atkins & Company, & Welch, Gray & Company. A lengthy Atkins genealogy is also included.
