Photograph Notes: The medieval manor house was demolished in the mid 18th century when its owner, the Hon. Thomas Townsend, decided to build a new house here for himself and his young wife. Sadly, she died and Thomas never completed the project. A long history is on http://www.chislehurst.co.uk/history/scadbury-manor/.
