The Aerohive Atom AP30 revolutionizes the way Wi-Fi is designed, deployed, and RE-deployed, providing enterprise access, monitoring, and analytics in a compact form factor. With a simple and intuitive design coupled with pain-free installation and automated over-the-air setup, Atom AP30 is the ideal choice for a variety of dynamic use cases including delivering instant network access, plugging RF holes, providing security and analytics, and remote VPN access.

Aerohive Atom AP30 is equipped with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology for connectivity and monitoring services. With multiple operating modes, the Atom AP30 can be used to extend Wi-Fi connectivity via existing Wi-Fi infrastructure, bridge IoT devices, or scan the RF environment for business and security applications.

Atom AP30 can be deployed as a complete access or sensor solution, or in combination with Aerohive’s extensive Wi-Fi portfolio for high density networks. With client mode, Atom AP30 can even mesh to 3rd party networks.

Administrators can quickly deploy the Atom AP30 in any location that has connectivity requirements. No need to run new cables or ceiling-mount this access point, simply find a power outlet and plug it in. Once powered, Atom AP30 can be Ethernet connected to a neighboring data outlet, mesh to an existing network, or operate as an overlay sensor.

Aerohive Atom AP30 can help organizations quickly, easily, and more cost-effectively solve for all manner of use cases without having to install or re-position a ceiling-mounted access point, including, but not limited to:

EASY SET-UP:

The Atom AP30 automatically looks for neighboring APs with which to form a mesh. You can also configure the Ethernet port for bridge mode, and use it to connect a wired device, such as a printer or projector, to your network.

Status LED:  The Atom AP30 has a status LED on the top front edge of the chassis. When you plug the device into a wall socket, this light cycles through the following sequence:

Atom AP30 Status LED Color Patterns

  • Steady amber: The device is initializing, rebooting, or downloading new software.
  • Slow-blinking amber: The device is looking for a neighbor with which to establish a mesh connection. If the AP remains in a slow-blinking amber stage, it is too far away from the portal AP to establish a good connection.
  • Fast-blinking white: The device has received a password from a neighbor and is beginning mesh setup.
  • Mesh Connection Status: The LED stays in one of the following states for about 15 seconds before moving to the steady white stage:
    • No flashing white or amber: The signal is a the minimum level required to establish a mesh link, and the connection is not stable. The negotiated speed is less than 60 Mbps.
    • Slow flashing white or amber: The speed is slow but the connection is stable. The negotiated speed is between 60 and 90 Mbps. Use case: There is a need to add coverage to a dead zone, there are not many clients, and traffic levels are low.
    • Fast flashing white or amber: The speed is fast and the connection is stable. The negotiated speed is greater than 90 Mbps. Use case: A large group of clients or videos are using the mesh and need the best possible connection.
    • Steady White: The device has successfully established a CAPWAP connection and is operating normally. If the LED stays solid amber after the Mesh-connecting phase, the serial number has not been entered into ExtremeCloud IQ
