V8 Engine Block Coffee Table


A unique salvaged Rolls Royce V8 Engine


Originally fitted to a Silver Shadow motor car this 6.75l monster V8 found itself seized and destined for scrap. However, I have saved it from being destroyed and turned it into unique coffee table which will make the perfect centre piece for any room.

This V8 block has been shot blasted and then given a coat of clear satin lacquer. I wanted to show the raw and natural colours of the cast aluminum block and iron cylinder liners in all their glory. Added to the design are four pistons, seized in the bores in the exact places they settled when the engine last ran. The remaining four pistons have been welded to steel plats and now support the glass top. The four pistons which support the glass have been been finished in the same way, shot blasted and lacquered. These pistons show the battle scares of their removal from the engine, making this a truly unique piece.

 The table will be supplied with a 650x800m clear toughened glass top, finished with 50mm radius corners and a polished edge. If you would like a different sized top, this can be arranged, just ask. The table measures 59cm by 76cm across the outside of the piston tops and sits 48cm tall on it's solid oak feet. The glass sits on four transparent non slip location pads which are discrete and allow the glass to be lifted off for transit and cleaning.

This is a truly unique item with a great industrial patina!


I'm easy to get too, just off J6 of the M5. Due to the block being aluminium the table is not as heavy as you may think, with two people it can be safely lifted, it weighs approximately 60 kilos. If you wish to arrange your own courier I am happy to crate up the table and securely pack the glass for an agreed nominal amount. As I said I can arrange delivery, including packing up the table and glass for £100 all inclusive. I prefer payment in cash upon delivery or collection but I will also accept PayPal.
