This long handlebar stem with quick-release will fit our Columba SP26S steel and RJ26A alloy bike. This product was designed for people who may want a longer stem
for their bikes, so that they can ride in a more relaxed upward
position. The handlebar stem is the part that is plugged into the head
tube of a bike. The diameter of this stem is 22.2 mm. The quick-release
bolt length is 350 mm. The stem will fit with handlebars that have a 26
mm diameter at their center. The remaining diameter of the handlebars
should be 22 mm. Please check the dimensions of your bike before you
order.
The following is the replacement procedure:
-
Hex wrenches with sizes of 5 mm, 4 mm and 3 mm, one flat head
screwdriver and one Phillips screwdriver are needed to replace the
handlebar stem. We do not provide these tools with this product. Any
customer interested in performing this procedure should use their own
tools.
-
Only one side of the handle grip needs to be removed.
-
Removing the grip is usually the hardest part, unless you use this
useful trick! First, remove the end cap from the handle. Then, get some
liquid soap and apply it to the tip of a flat head screwdriver. Insert
the head of the screw driver between the rubber grip and the metal part
of the handle. Apply the liquid soap using this method around the entire
circumference of the handle. Now the grip can be easily taken off.
-
Use the hex wrenches to loosen the hex bolts. Take the brake handles and
shifter off the handlebar. Then, use the Phillips screwdriver to remove
the bicycle bell or front reflector. Lastly, remove the handlebar
itself from the stem.
-
Install the replacement stem in the reverse sequence of the above.
