Nearside (left side as you sit on the bike)
Remove fairing panel
Remove lower engine bolt
Paint end of bolt supplied , place in bolt hole
Refit the fairing to mark the inside with paint
Remove the fairing. Using a 28mm tank cutter/cone cutter, drill the fairing at the paint mark using the pilot drill (inside towards
outside).
Offer the fairing back up to ensure you are in the correct position.
Turn the fairing over and support it. Enter the pilot drill into the hole (from the outside) and carefully cut the 28mm hole.
Replace the fairing and assemble the mushroom, bolt and spacer and tighten bolt until you feel some compression from inside the
mushroom. Turn a little more so that you feel the compression increase slightly. Then apply a quarter turn. Do not overtighten as damage can occur to the bike. Do not exceed 40nm of torque. Note long spacer this side – the spacer goes between the protector and the frame
Offside (right side as you sit on the bike)
Repeat as above Note: Short spacer this side
