This amazing evolutionary rebel appeared with several other color shades of the "blast" mutation. The bloom resembles a christmas light bulb, or a partially opened split bloom. When you blow on them from above, they can open up more beautifully.

      Open-air pollination is used by virtually every gardener and can produce crossed varieties.  This can be fortuitous as it provides the gardener with a brand new type of morning glory which can then be refined and sold.  Think twice before removing any odd morning glories you find among your expected cultivar.  It could be one in a million!
