Rare PAIR of antique bronze ormolu candleholders.
France, circa 1860.
This is a very pretty pair of antique gold gilding bronze candlesticks, in the Rococo style.
The hand chiseling work is outstanding, very heavy casting bronze in a high quality detail, decorated with flowers and plants.
Original gold gilding.
Both are stamped DAUBREE on the base ( see photo ).
Alfred Daubrée ( 1817- 1885 ), was a French artist specialized in objects of art and jewelry.
Rarely his product was stamped by his name ( these are ).
I cleaned and waxed them, to preserve them from oxidation.
Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work.
H : 9 1/2 inches ( 24 cm )
W : 6 inches ( 15 cm ) at the base.
Very heavy related to the dimension.
The last photo shows a tiny area of imperfection in the casting ( default de fabrique ), it doesn’t affect the beauty of the work.
VERY GOOD CONDITION
