Amazing 80+ year old, still-shiny Goldsmith Claremont Putter #10! This club is in original unrestored condition other than the club head being cleaned. Has early Steel shaft in rusty but good solid condition. Leather grip is in very nice shape for it's age. It's still very solid and accurate on putts. This is a diamond in the not-so-rough condition! A wonderful Golf Collector's item!
"The Goldsmith Claremont was a series of woods and irons offered by MacGregor in the mid-late 1930's". "P. Goldsmith Sons, one of the "Big Four" in athletic goods business during the 1030's actually owned MacGregor Golf from 1936 to 1958. It was under this ownership that MacGregor developed the huge iron head broaching and milling machines which forever changed the look of forged iron heads." "It was also during this time (in 1946) that MacGregor was moved from its original Dayton home to the Goldsmith's Cincinnati factory." "These clubs were offered in men's right and left hand models and ladies right hand only. The suggested retail price of an individual iron was $5.45."
