This Unusual Vintage Style Poster shows the Vaudeville act of the famous Hilton Twins of “freaks” fame. This famed “couple” were born as conjoined Siamese twins in 1908. Joined at their hips, they shared blood circulation and were fused at the pelvis but shared no major organs. The Hilton sisters first toured in Britain at age 3 as “The United Twins”. They went on, under their Mother's guidance, to develop into an almost sideshow manner of performance. After their Mother's death, they were trained by their managers in music, particularly Jazz. Violet was a skilled saxophonist, while Daisy was a violinist. Life under their manager's thumb was difficult and they eventually sued, gaining freedom from their contract. They went into Vaudeville, performing as the Hilton Sisters Revue. In 1932, the twins appeared in the film "Freaks." In the years afterwards their popularity faded, and they struggled to make a living in show business. They passed away in 1969 from the Hong Kong flu. It was believed that Daisy died first and Violet passed away two days later.
