SYNOPSIS ....

Calypso Magic, the second novel in the Magic Trilogy, was originally published in 1988.

The Magic Trilogy

Midsummer Magic 1987

Calypso Magic 1988

Moonspun Magic 1988

From the Dustjacket:

Nineteen-year-old Diana Savarol is nowhere near the traditional ingenue entering her first Season. In fact, as distant cousin Lord Lyonel Ashton soon discovers, she has a mind - and a tongue - as distinctly foreign as her tanned face. And the conventions of polite London society seem wholly unable to restrain her wilful disposition, outspoken nature and general disdain for the array of marriageable prospects she is exposed to. In many ways, it is a blessing that Diana soon convinces her aunt Lucia, Lady Cranston, to allow her to return to her beloved West Indies. However, she is not to risk such a dangerous voyage alone, and Lyonel is forced to escort her as chaperone and protector - a role he increasingly comes to dislike as Diana's true environment embraces them both in its heady, sensual perfume.

It is 1813 in London. The Earl of Saint Leven, Lyonel Ashton, doesn't like women, and he's got every reason not to. But fate, in the guise of Aunt Lucia, intervenes. She presents him with Diana Savarol, a young lady newly arrived from her family's Caribbean island and very unhappy at being forced into frigid England and tossed headlong into the marriage market.

These two very strong willed individuals eye each other, then go for the gold in an insult competition. The earl calls Diana an eavesdropper; she says he looks pale and unhealthy. He says she has big feet; she says he suffers from "Charlotte's Disease."

When Diana insists upon returning home, she doesn't expect to have the earl share her cabin aboard ship. Then there's the ship's captain, Rafael Carstairs, who isn't just any ship captain sailing the seven seas. And on Savarol Island, there's a mystery to solve and wrongs to right.

Do enjoy Lyonel and Diana, and let me know what you think of their story.

Amazing, beautiful & romantic ......  This story was the most and twisted, also steamy (detailed what I love the most in erotic novels) and ESPECIALLY detective-suspenseful in this trilogy.  All my 10 stars I give without a doubt! I fell in love with this book as with other ones by Catherine  Coulter! She's a fabulous writer.

Breathtakingly delicious! ... I absolutely loved this book!

I've always been a huge fan of Catherine Coulter, and some of her books I even re-read every year. She has a wonderful talent of creating believable and likeable characters and plot lines that keep your attention.

Calypso Magic was no different. It is the story of Diana Savarol and Lionel, two people with a fast mouth and bad tempers when riled. I love the love stories where the main characters antagonize each other. The banter they have is very entertaining throughout the book.

The story line is interesting and will keep you paying attention until the very last page (with lovely sex scenes sprinkled throughout!) I honestly became very attached to the characters and at some points imagined grabbing them and shaking them, "What is wrong with you??"  As always with any Catherine Coulter novel that I have ever read, it is definitely worth the read.  I look forward to reading the other books in this series. :)

This is my favorite .... novel by Catherine Coulter. It took me awhile to admit that I like it better than Devil's Daughter, but it is the truth.

One thing I really like about this novel is that the main characters genuinely like each other for a majority of the book - as opposed to so many other historical romance novels that keep the hero and heroine irritated and fighting with each other for a majority of the novel.

Terrific Read!!  ....  Sent to England to find a husband, what she finds is a mountain of a man they call Lion. He found her intesting, to say the least. Then he inherits a plantation in the West Indies. Once she returns home, there swirls a mystery. Who is killing of the people? Will they be next? Will they be able to solve the mystery before times runs out for them all?

It's got EVERYthing!!! ....Great characters and story. I love a good book that has a little bit of everything. Strong, witty characters and a good plot. I love Catherine Coulters historical romance books.

Marvellous Reading!
