Circulated dollar from 1971. This coin is the first year of issue for the last large dollar coin minted for general circulation.  No large dollar coin had been minted in the US since the minting of the Peace dollar ended in 1935.  The coin was minted for just 8 years, from 1971-1978.

The obverse celebrates the renowned World War II general and 34th President of the USA, Dwight David Eisenhower.  The reverse celebrates the US moon landing in 1969, and memorializes Neil Armstrong's announcement as the lunar module "Eagle" put down on the moon's surface: "The Eagle has landed".
