Pulsus embodies the experience gained during the development of the Pulsare to design this high quality but economically priced phonostage. Many of the Pulsare's features have been retained such as the switchable flexibility and separate power supply.
The new Pulsus is the distillation of the experience gained during the development of AVID's ultra-high performance Pulsare phono stage. A single-ended, dual-mono two-box design, Pulsus is a true high-end design with outstanding performance and build quality at an affordable price.
AVID's Pulsus is a which keeps the noise floor exceptionally low. Distortion across the audio spectrum is virtually immeasurable. This phono preamp offers impressive headroom, great dynamics, fantastic amounts of detail, and a warmth of character common to all of AVID’s award-winning products. The Pulsus mates well with most MM or MC cartridges and its sonic signature is pure and musical – the natural reproduction of instruments alive in the original recording space.
The Pulsus is built in the UK with high-specification internal components and to an exceedingly high level of quality. Inputs and outputs are both gold-plated RCAs. Gain, resistance and capacitance selections are all easily made from the underside of the chassis, offering exceptional flexibility and ease of use.
A passive RIAA (with Neumann HF correction) circuit using audiophile-grade capacitors helps maintain linearity of reproduction; and its external, regulated power supply provides refined power to causing this to have a vanishing low noise levels. You will be shocked to hear so much more micro-detail from all of your LPs when using the Pulsus.
