Rookwood bowl with brown /rust color base, standard glaze and decorated with poppies. This piece was made circa 1898 and decorated by Olga Geneva Reed. The shape/model is S1330. This information was provided by an antique dealer as I am not well versed in Rookwood. It measures approx 10.25" wide and 6" tall. This piece is lovely and displays well, but sometime(long ago) it may have been made into a lamp base. That's the only explanation I can come up with for the hole in the base. It was there long before it came into my possession. There are some scratches on the surface, some crazing but there are no cracks. The area around the hole in the bottom does have some chips present. Please enlarge pictures to fully evaluate the condition. I try very hard to describe each piece to the best of my ability. If you need further pictures, write to me. I will provide whatever I can. This piece is a little over 6 pounds in weight! the lip of the bowl does not have damage. That is glare.
