XAP1541 Serial+Parallel Y cable 350% faster Commodore C64/128/1541

& 1541 Parallel port with socketed cable (solderless)


Este cable permite conectar un ordenador PC con una unidad de disco Commodore. De esta manera se pueden transferir programas y juegos descargados en el PC hacia el floppy o a la inversa, transferir programas en diskette al PC para realizar una copia de seguridad o utilizarlo con un emulador. También permite usar la unidad directamente desde el emulador VICE, pudiendo cargar los juegos o programas sin necesidad de ordenador Commodore. Ha sido contruido con los transistores BSV52 recomendados.

Al utilizar la conexión de datos paralelo, la transferencia de datos es de un 300-350 % más rápida que con el cable XA1541 que solo utiliza la conexión serie. Además permite copiar programas originales y con protecciones usando NIBTOOLS.

Se incluye el cable XAP1541 y el zócalo y cable para instalar el puerto paralelo sin necesidad de soldaduras en la unidad de disco. En la unidad 1541 es muy sencillo, ver 2ª fotografía, en la 1541-C requiere cortar una pista y también el cambio de la ROM. En la 1541-II normalmente no sirve ya que el chip está soldado a la placa, puedo enviar un cable especial para soldar. Cualquier duda, preguntar, suelo responder en 24h.

 Es el tipo de cable más compatible con los nuevos modelos de ordenador (superior a Pentium IV). Permite trabajar en entorno Windows XP/2000/Vista/7 y Linux, además de MS-DOS, siendo mucho más comoda su utilización. El equipo necesario es:

  1. Ordenador PC, con puerto paralelo.
  2. Disquetera Commodore 1541, 1541-C ó 1541-II con cable serie.

    El cable ha sido comprobado con los programas Star Commander en MS-DOS y CBMXfer (un interfaz gráfico para cbm4win) con Nibtools en Windows XP.

    Importante, nunca conectar o desconectar el cable con los equipos encendidos, se pueden dañar el cable y los equipos. Nunca utilizar solo el conector paralelo (DB15) siempre usarlo junto con el conector serie, de otra manera la falta de la conexión de masa podría dañar severamente los equipos.

    • This cable connects Commodore machines or drives to PC parallel port. You could tranfer program or games from floppy to PC and viceversa. The cable is made with the recommended BSV52 transistors.Using the parallel port on 1541 data transfer is about 300-350% faster than using only the serial cable (XA1541). Also, using NIBTOOLS you can backup protected software.

    Included the XAP1541 cable and the 1541 parallel port with socketed cable (solderless). Note that 1541 is very easy, see pictures, 1541-C a trace need to be cut and requires also change of ROM. Usually is not suitable for 1541-II because chip is soldered to board without socket, I can send a special cable for this. Any question just ask, I will try to answer within 24 hours.

    The cable has been tested with Star Commander in MS-DOS and CBMXfer (a GUI for cbm4win/openCbm) NIBTOOLS in Windows XP.


    Important! Do not plug or unplug cables while your equipment is switched on. Never leave the parallel half of the cable connected alone, only if the serial half is also connected, otherwise the lack of GND connection may severely damage your equipment.
