Surprisingly, egg patterns are a popular fly year-round.  Fish will really key in on the egg if it is drifting near the bottom of the stream bead.  The tungsten bead will get the egg deeper and quicker so you have more time in the feeding zone when you are nymphing.

This is a perfect fly as a top fly to use in tandem with a small midge.  The curved hook bend is a great place to attach a dropper fly.  We offer several colors and sizes to match whatever is spawning.  When the trout are gorging on the eggs, this pattern can be what is needed to catch your trophy trout.
