Design is inspired by Star Trek, The Next Generation (TNG). It uses the main part of the U.S. Air Force's Space Command official insignia, which is reminiscent of the insignia worn on the left breast of the TNG uniforms. The background is similar to the color of dark red sometimes worn by the command and helm officers.
