COKIN "A" SERIES A001 YELLOW FILTER - BLACK & WHITE CONTRAST CONTROL - NOS

This is a new old stock Cokin A Series Yellow A002 filter. The A002 is primarily used in black & white photography to increase contrast between sky and clouds. It functions in the film or digital domains. In color it will produce a pronounced yellow color effect.

Cokin filters require the use of a Cokin filter holder and an adapter ring to attach it to your lens. A single A filter can fit  lenses up to 62mm using the proper adapter ring.

The Yellow filter is a black and white contrast enhancing filter. Contrast enhancing filters are used to alter the gray tone recorded on film for different colors in natural or studio environments. These filters pass their own color while absorbing other colors, most notably it’s contrasting or opposite color. This passing/absorbing action alters negative densities thus affecting the final image in the print.

Yellow filters are used in black and white photography for absorbing blue light. Especially useful in landscape and scenic photography, the Yellow filter darkens sky while foliage and other colored objects in the scene remain unaffected. Darker skies add dramatic effect to the final image by highlighting the foreground and increasing contrast between clouds and sky.

This is a new old stock item. It has never been sold to an end user. It ships in it’s original packaging which may show shelf wear and/or evidence of removed price labels, resealing, writing, etc.
