50g ball of 100% Pure Undyed Tussah Silk 8 ply Double Knitting Yarn, Natural Honey Brown Shade.
Tussah Silk is valued for its rich texture and natural honey gold colour. Perfect for Knitting, Weaving, Dyeing. It dyes beautifully with slightly deeper tones due to its natural colouration. Obviously this type of silk is very expensive to produce. 11.3/8nm  Ref: 0212   By Texere Yarns, UK. Approximately 70m per 50g ball.

Tussah Silk is a wild silk. As it is produced in the wild and not in a controlled environment, the silk tends to be more textured, coarser and less lustrous than Mulberry Silk. It has shorter fibres and a matt finish.

Brand new, fantastic quality British yarn ideal for a wide variety of projects. It is perfect for making, accessories, soft furnishings such as cushion covers, clothes: Silk is a very special fibre; clothes made of silk will keep you comfortable in hot weather and warm in cool weather. It is also very absorbent.

Brand new yarn, direct from the mill, wound on wool winder. No ball bands/labels. The natural smell is removed after a delicate wash.

Washing instructions: Can be machine washed in a 'delicates' mesh bag on a cool, delicate program or handwash very gently in cool water. Dry flat, away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry, very cool iron if needed.

(I have tried to show the colour, texture and thickness as accurately as possible in the photos. It looks accurate on my screen but all screens show colours differently. I am happy to send a short length of any of my wools as a sample so that you can see the colour and texture before you decide. Just send me a SAE and let me know which yarns you would like a sample of).
