Fine mineral roofing felt for use on sheds, kennels, hutches, and other portable buildings

It is composed of a polyester reinforced aluminium core, coated with a rubber modified, self adhesive bitumen coating. The membrane is protected on the underside with a release film backing and coated on the top surface with a fine mineral finish. A minimum salvage of 75mm width, protected with release film, provides a quick means of completing side laps.

Application

Roofing Felt is bonded to the substrate by removing the release film on the reverse of the material to expose the self-adhesive coating. All roof decks must be clean and dry, and must be primed with IKOpro Bonding Agent and allowed to dry, prior to the application . As with all self-adhesive membranes, Self-Adhesive Roofing Felt is easiest to apply at a temperature over 10°C.

Side laps are self adhesive under normal conditions. However in cold weather or if the self adhesive lap has become contaminated, hot air equipment should be used to ensure the laps are fully sealed. End laps should be heat welded using hot-air equipment. To assist with installation during cold weather conditions, materials should not be stored on the roof overnight.

Storage
Should be stored on end, on a clean level surface away from excessive heat and under cover. Self-adhesive membranes should be stored between 5°C -24°C for 24 hours prior to use.
