These mini mating hives are ideal for raising mated Queens using fewer bees. The benefit of this is you do not waste one of your full size colonies from honey production.
The polystyrene mating hive comes complete with 3 mini frames and a built in removable feeder. The front has a sliding panel, which regulates the ventilation and opens or closes the flight hole. The bottom of the hive is built with a plastic panel that can be removed when you want to fill the hive with bees or when you want to introduce the mated queen into a queenless family.
A queen excluder in front of the feeder chamber ensures that the bees will not build into this area.
