No date of publication is given, but the introduction is dated February 1922.
The book is dedicated by the author to "my Fellow Members of The Print Collector's Club".
[18], 125, [7] p.: tissue-guarded frontispiece and 11 leaves of plates, along with numerous decorative head and tail pieces; 27.5 cm. (11.25 inches). Off-white cloth spine with spine title on label printed in red and black, blue paper over boards. Original plain blue dust jacket matching the blue paper over boards and with a matching spine label in red and black. Top page edges blue. While all the plates are open, there are many unopened pages.

A detailed study of the equestrian engraving, "Cromwell on Horseback," by Pierre Lombart (1613-1682), which is based on the horse and rider in Van Dyck's painting "King Charles I Under an Archway" [shown in the frontispiece]. A wonderful introduction to print collecting for the novice, but also of interest to the expert. As the author notes in the Preface: "This book is intended for the amateur as well as for the expert. In it I have done my best to appeal at the same time to the hunting instinct of the print-collector and the cultivated taste of the print-lover. And I have chosen Pierre Lombart's equestrian engraving as my text not only because of its great rarity in the earlier states but also because, of all engraved plates, it has probably passed through more varied adventures and undergone more drastic changes than any other. Further than that, it has in the past given rise to so great a crop of erroneous theories that something definite and authoritative seems now to be demanded."

Book is in Near Fine Condition: brown area on the front fixed endpaper from removal of a book plate; otherwise, the pages and plates are bright, clean, tight, and unmarked.
Dust Jacket is in Fair Plus Condition: served its utilitarian purpose in protecting the book; a number of chips and tears and an old dried dampstain along the upper edge of the front section. Spine label still largely intact.
